Jake came back to Yanceyville, Caswell County, North Carolina in 2011 to practice law with his dad because of the deep roots that his family has in the community, and because practicing law in Caswell and the surrounding areas allows Jake to carry on a rich tradition of offering unparalleled legal services to the people of the region. His dad told him while he was in law school that a lawyer should take pride in his profession and serve the people of his community to the best of his ability. He also said being a lawyer is a privilege, and having such a privilege empowers your ability to give back. Hearing these words had a deep and profound impact on Jake and how he wanted to carry out how he practices law. This was a big influence on his decision to come home and join Daniel | Thomas Law. 

With Daniel | Thomas Law being founded on the border of North Carolina and Virginia, Jake saw the benefit of being licensed in both states, so after becoming licensed in North Carolina in 2011, Jake became licensed in Virginia in 2012. Having the flexibility to practice across state lines in North Carolina and Virginia gives Jake the ability to represent clients in the area to the fullest due to the many cross-state legal issues that people sometimes face. 

Furthermore, in 2019, Daniel | Thomas Law expanded with an office in Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina, to better serve clients in the greater Triangle and Research Triangle Park Region of North Carolina.
